Summary of how the Salt Lake County Utah housing market performed in the forth quarter 2017.
4th Quarter 2017 Housing Market Update
The housing market showed some small signs of easing in the 4th quarter. More homes came on the market, with 4,284 new listings (up 5.04%), while homes sold increased 3.53%. This did not stop the median sales price increasing 11.44% to $299,000. Homes did take longer to sell, with the median days on market climbing from 19 to 25 days.
Single Family Home Sales
Single Family Home prices climbed 11.86% in the quarter to stand at $330,000. More homes did come on the market with 5% more listings and there was also a slight 1.70% increase in the number of homes sold. Those homes that sold were taking longer with the median days on market climbing from 20 to 26 days.
Condo Home Sales
The condo market was far more active in the 4th quarter. The number of condos sold increased 15.26%, a number which more than absorbed the 13.05% increase in listings. This drove up the median condo sales price to $193,000, 10.92% more than the same time last year. The median days on market did increase slightly going from 16 to 18 days.
