
Salt Lake County Home Prices 2Q 2007
Home prices in the 2nd quarter 2007 continue to show strong increases, but these figures are hiding a change in the market. The Salt Lake County real estate market is moving away from a sellers market to a market that more favors buyers. The number of home sales is well down on the levels seen last year and as a result homes are staying on the market longer., which in turn is putting pressure on prices. There are some exceptions to this downturn, one of which is the downtown condo market which remains strong.
Because areas that experience very few home sales in the quarter tend to show large fluctuations, I have excluded data for any area with fewer than 10 sales.
