2015 Annual Housing Market Update

Single Family Home Sales

2015 was a good year for the Salt Lake County single family home market. After a slow start the backend of the year saw real growth in home prices, with the median home price climbing 6.67% to stand at $272,000. The number of homes sold increased 14.17% to 13,292 sales, and the time taken to sell a home dropped 40% to 21 days.

Condo Home Sales

While not showing the same returns as single family homes the market performed pretty well in 2015. The median sales price for a condo returned a modest increase of 2.21% to $154,400, on the back of strong sales which increased 18.20% to 1,786 units sold. Condos also sold faster than the previous year, taking a median of 33 days (26.67% faster) to go under contract.
