Murray City

Murray City, UT is located approximately 8 miles south of Salt Lake City. It was settled in 1849 as part of the Salt Lake City southern expansion. Because of its close location to the Cottonwood Creeks it was initially an agricultural community. In 1869 the first smelter was built and the industrial age of Murray began. This continued until 1950 when the last smelter was closed. Today with its central location Murray City is a ideal commuter community.

Murray is comprised of two zip codes 84107 and 84123 (which it shares with Taylorsville).

For more information on the city you can visit the Murray City government website.
