Annual 2023 Housing Market Update
While 2023 may have seemed like a down year for Salt Lake real estate it was not that bad. Prices were down, but only 3.04%, with the median sales price at $510,000. There were fewer home sales, which declined 14.69% and homes did take longer to sell (25 days up 127.27%).
Single Family Home Sales
Prices for single-family homes fell 3.26% in 2023, with the median sales price standing at $586,250. This was on the back of a sharp fall in the number of homes sold which declined by 15.14%. Homes also took longer to sell taking a median of 25 days which was up 127.27%.
Condo Home Sales
Condo prices fell slightly in 2023 going down 1.94% to stand at $353,000. Sales were down 11.02% with 1397 condos sold. They also took longer to sell, taking a median of 26 days to go under contract, which was an increase of 160%.
