Located to the east of The Avenues and the north west of the University of Utah lies one of Salt Lake's most expensive and exclusive neighborhood, Federal Heights. The area takes its name from the fact that offices from Fort Douglas (established by the Federal Government) chose this area for their homesteads in the early 1900's. Today the area features many large homes, mostly dating from the early 1900's through the 1920's, but you will also find homes all the way through to the early 2000's.
