Salt Lake City Weather

The weather in Salt Lake City offers a bit of everything.

Weather Information

Summer Weather

If you like hot weather then you will not be disappointed. The average highs in July and August are in the high 80's. Utah is located in a dessert, so while it feels warm (in fact on some days very warm) it is a dry climate so it does not feel oppressive like it can do on the east coast where it is humid. If you do need to cool down then you can always drive up into the mountains, which are located a short drive away.

Autumn Weather

This is my favorite time of the year. The temperatures are still warm in the 70's and 60's. When the trees start to turn a drive up into the mountains can yield a spectacular display of color.

Winter Weather

If you like skiing then Salt Lake City is the place for you. When the sun is out it can be very pleasant in the valley, and located a short drive away (only 30 minutes to the nearest ski resort) you will find some of the finest skiing in the U.S. In addition to the great skiing you will also find that the slopes are a lot less busy than other places in the U.S. The only bad side to winter in Salt Lake City is the inversion, which can stay around for several days at a time.

Spring Weather

With temperatures in the 50's and 60's this is a great time of year for outdoor activities.
