West Jordan City

West Jordan City, UT is located approximately 13 miles from Salt Lake City. It was first settled in 1849 as part of the Salt Lake Valley expansion. The name West Jordan came about because the Mormons saw similarities between the area and the biblical lands of Jordan. In the 1960's the population grew at such a rate it became one of the fastest growing communities in the United States.
